The hotel gym is clean and the equipment rather basic, but surely enough to get a good workout in.

Yes, I’ll often choose Homewood Suites because they usually have hotel gyms with treadmills and dumbbells. That’s all I really need when I travel for a night away.

In terms of weight-based machines, there’s a chest press machine, a lat pull-down machine and a leg press machine. There’s also a cable machine with loads of different handles as well as a Smith machine.
Kettlebells range from 4,5 to 16kg, dumbbells range from 2 to 22 kg and there’s a couple of adjustable benches.
There’re are eight treadmills and three cross-trainers along the wall. There’s a handful of stationary bikes and a rowing machine as well.
Accessories include foam rollers, medicine balls (up to 6,8kg), slam balls and exercise balls. There’s also a punching bag and a TRX station.

The gym features a pair of 10 kg dumbbells and a pair of 12 kg dumbbells. That’s it for weights. There’s a bench that adjusts for incline but because the back of the seat is not properly secured, you have to ensure it doesn’t slide out from behind you exposing the sharp metal framing beneath it, as it did to me multiple times. Not overly safe.
It had the “Big 3” for cardio machines (treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike).

I’ve seen some lightly equipped hotel gyms throughout the years, and although the gym at this particular hotel wasn’t the most lightly equipped, I have ever seen, it was certainly a skeleton list of available equipment.
For anyone looking to get a reasonable workout in that isn’t almost entirely a calisthenics-driven workout, you’re going to have to search around offsite. Luckily there’s a Goodlife gym not far from here. I’m not a fan of corporate gyms, but even less a fan of poorly equipped hotel gyms.

There’re a lot of pin-operated machines – for example, leg curls and leg extensions, seated rows, chest presses, lat pull-downs and leg presses.
There’s also a cable machine, a pull up/dip tower, a Smith machine and even a squat rack.
They have dumbbells (up to 25 kgs) and adjustable benches (including the decline version) and there’re exercise balls, medicine balls and kettlebells too.
In terms of cardio equipment, there’re stair-masters, cross-trainers, rowing machines, treadmills, stationary bikes as well as spinning bikes – and plenty of each!

There’s a huge selection of dumbbells and four adjustable benches, barbells (up to 50 kgs) and a ton of kettlebells.
There’s a Smith machine and other weight-based machines – for example, two different machines for leg presses, a lat pull-down machine, a machine for seated rows and a chest press machine.
There’s also a huge cardio area covering seven treadmills, two stair masters, four cross-trainers and three spinning bikes.
They have exercise balls, medicine balls, battle ropes, monkey bars, several TRX training stations and even a punching bag.
