It got crowded quickly, but I was able to take some free weights outside by the pool.

No, but it was convenient to have the option to use it during my stay.

If you want to do more than cardio, this isn’t the hotel gym for you. The dumbbells are very limited and there’s no cable equipment to speak of.
I would’ve preferred heavier dumbbells. I was thinking of doing a pull day, and that really wasn’t possible with the limited equipment,

There’s also a multi-machine allowing for seated leg-presses, lat pull-downs and chest flys. On the side, there’s the option of doing dips and leg raises.
There’s also a barbell bench press setup although with a limited number of weight plates.
As for cardio equipment, there’s a cross-trainer and a stationary bike.

There’s a strange/bad smell in the hotel gym – like an old basement.

Not sure – on one hand, the equipment is rather limited, but on the other it’s better than nothing.

The temperature was comfortable and there was 24hr access to the gym with the key card.
I was disappointed that there weren’t any weight-based/pin-operated machines, to work with, but at least they had dumbbells.

No, I wouldn’t stay there for the gym. You can have a nice small workout, but nothing more.
Miramare Resort & Spa

There are a range of cable-based machines with different attachments – hip abductors, lat pull-downs and seated leg presses. There are dumbbells with set weights (up to 22 lbs/10 kgs) and dumbbells you assemble by putting together the small bar/handle with plates to adjust the weight. There’re three barbells and plates which adds up to 220 lbs/100 kg. There’s also a barbell bench press setup.
There’s a good range of cardio equipment that’s in working order including two stationary bikes, two cross-trainers and two treadmills.

A word to sum up this hotel gym would be “dated”.
To summarize the strengths of this gym, it’s very accessible with opening times from 8am to 10pm. You collect a key from the reception which gives you access. As you enter, you feel the coolness from the air conditioning which is very welcoming!
It seemed clean and didn’t smell.
There’s a water machine which had ice cold and cool water.
There’s a TV but also good internet connection, in case you want to put on your own music.
However, despite having a decent range of equipment available, there were three machines that were out of order (e.g., lat pull-downs) and a lot of the things that were in working order were very old and seemed quite risky to use (e.g., the vertical leg press felt like it was going to snap at any moment). The clips for some of the barbells were terrible as well, either not holding the plates on or being a nuisance to get off.

There’s a dual cable machine with a nice selection of handles as well as a cable tower covering seated rows and lat pull-downs.
There’s also a separate leg press machine.
There’s a power rack too, but without any barbells!? Instead, a TRX suspension trainer was attached at the top of the power rack.

They’ve got kettlebells too – I believe they go up to 40 lbs/18 kgs, but I’m not sure.
With three punching bags hanging from the ceiling, two battle rope stations in the corner and three tires allowing for some serious tires flipping, there’s kind of a cross-fit vibe over this hotel gym.
In terms of cardio, there’re two rowing machines, an assault bike, two stationary bikes, a step machine and two treadmills.
Accessories include foam rollers, medicine balls and Bosu balls.

Although the hotel gym is quite spacious, there’s an odd collection of equipment. There’s a power rack, but no barbells!? Racks without barbells are of little use.
There’re very few leg exercise options, and the cardio equipment was lacking considering the size of the hotel gym.
There’re tires, but no sledge or sledgehammer!? They should fill up the empty space with more equipment.
It was open 5am to 5pm seven days a week. It’s advertised as 5am to 10pm, but that’s not the case when I was there.
